Parliament Guided Tours

Overview
  • Free access to buildings and information about Parliament for schools, organisations, tourists and the general public.
  • Tourists and general public are guided as and when they come during working days.
  • Scheduled visits for schools and other groups require written requests to Parliament
  • Response letter will indicate decorum of the House, date & time of the visit.
  • Guest presents the letter to Security upon arrival
  • Tour of Parliament & Ntlo ya Dikgosi Chambers

Overview

They serve citizens at constituency level on behalf of Parliament, with services including:

  • Direct consultations with the Member of Parliament through the office
  • Access to parliamentary information (e.g., Hansard)
  • Submission of grievances/issues to the Member of Parliament through the office

Observation of Parliament and Ntlo Ya Dikgosi Debates

Overview

The public is given the opportunity to observe both Parliament and Ntlo ya Dikgosi live debates in their respective Chambers.

The Chambers have public galleries to sit members of the public.

How do I get this service?

The service is obtained when:

Parliament is sitting as follows:Official Opening Meeting (State of the Nation Address presented by His excellency the President) - November to December

Sitting hours:

  • 1400hrs to 1800hrs on Monday to Thursday
  • 0900hrs to 1230hrs on Fridays

Budget Meeting (Presentation of the Budget Speech by the Minister of Finance and Economic Development) - February to April

Sitting hours:

  • 1400hrs to 1800hrs on Monday to Thursday
  • 0900hrs to 1230hrs on Fridays

Winter/General Meeting (Discuss general issues) - July to August

Sitting hours:

  • 1400hrs to 1800hrs on Monday to Thursday
  • 0900hrs to 1230hrs on Fridays

Ntlo ya Dikgosi is sitting as follows:

General meetings - January, June and October

Sitting Hours:

  • 0900hrs to 1630hrs on Monday to Fridays
  • 1400hrs to 1630hrs on Wednesdays
