The programme is designed to improve the quality of life of citizens and residents of remote areas by providing subsistance livestock and chicken to those who qualify. The animals provided are chickens, goats, sheep, and cattle.
- Botswana citizen 18 years or older,
- Resident in any of the 69 Settlements Qualified under the Rural Area Development Programme could apply.
- Visit the Social and Community Development Office in your area, with the supporting documents outlined below.
- The Social and Community Development Officer would then perform a site visit for assessment.
- Successful applicants are provided with technical skills and awareness as well as business training prior to receiving livestock or chicken.
- Social Inquiry Form (available at Botswana Urban and District Council offices and filled out by the Social and Community Development Officer).
- National Identity Card (Omang).
