Ministry Parastatals:
The Department of Corporate Services (CS): - Provides Strategic direction and guidance in the provision of corporate services functions through effective mobilisation, management and utilisation of resources (Human and Financial) to ensure effective execution of the Ministry’s core mandate.
The Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIC): - Facilitates movement and ensure security of citizens and residents through effective border management; issuance of Botswana passports; issuance of VISA and immigration permit (Permanent Residence Permit, Residence Permits, Exemptions Certificate, Citizenship and Botswana Blue Card.
The Department of Civil and National Registration (DCNR): This Department provide registration of Civil and Vital Statistics and National Identity through the following key pillars:
(i) Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS); Captures essential life events and legal identity changes.
(ii) National Registration; Manages the identification of citizens 16 years and older, including issuance and verification of Identity cards.
(iii) Societies Oversight; Regulates non-profit organizations and societies through registration, monitoring, and compliance.
(iv) Integrity and Support; The Investigation Unit protects records against fraud, working with anti-corruption and other law enforcement agencies.
The Department of Labour and Social Security (DLSS) – is responsible for maintaining harmonious labour relations and provide Labour Administrative Services through dispute resolution, Labour inspections, registration of trade unions and employer’s organizations and processing of work permits.
The Department of Occupational Health and Safety (DOHS)- Conducts workplace inspections, monitor and enforce compliance with the OHS legislation with a view to safeguard employees against occupational injuries, reduce vulnerability and manifestation of occupationally induced diseases and ill-health. DOSH also, facilitates compensation for all occupationally induced ill-health and disabilities caused by injuries or occupational diseases sustained during course of work.
The Department of Productivity and Competitiveness (DPC)- is responsible for promotion of the national productivity and competitiveness in terms of policy development and coordination as per Government Gazette No. 245 of 2022.
The Department of Employment Services. (DES) – Its functions include coordination and promotion of employment, monitoring and analysis of employment trends, providing employment services (registration of jobseekers and employers, job matching and counselling), as well as the administration of the internship programme.
The Botswana National Archives and Records Services (BNARS):- Provide Records and Information Management services to government agencies and to collect, preserve and provide access to the nation's documentary heritage.
