The fire department is responsible to responding to Fire Calls reported. The other emergency incidents which may not include fire outbreak are known as Special Service. This includes Road Traffic Accidents, Spillage of chemicals and any other rescue operations needed to save life and property from any unfortunate circumstances.

HOW DO I OBTAIN THE SERVICE
Members of the public are expected to report emergency is incidents occurring within their communities to the Fire Department since some incidents like a fire outbreak may occur in premises where the occupants are away. The emergency calls should be made through Toll Free Number 998. When reporting an emergency incident the caller should give the following information to assist the fire officer responding to the incidents to locate the incidents in reasonable time;

The Fire Department Emergency Service is available in 24 Hours to respond to any emergency reported without any applications required.

PUBLIC EDUCATION
Public Education on Fire Safety is increasingly becoming a pivotal concept used internationally to prevent fires and reduce cost of damage during fire outbreaks for the obvious reasons. The department conduct lectures theory and practical’s on topics covering the use of firefighting equipment (fire extinguishers), evacuation procedures and other related topics.
HOW DO I OBTAIN THE SERVICE
The Business community, NGO`s, Government departments and Schools can submit their request for training for Fire Safety by reporting directly to the Fire department or written request to the office of the Town Clerk.

The applicant must submit the request addressed to the Town Clerk specifying the number and the target group to be trained on Fire Safety at Fire Department Office, Registry or by Post to:

The Fire department conducts regular inspections on businesses, newly completed developments and in any factory that may be classified as a high risk area to promote best Fire Safety practices.
