  • Technical Report 1- Workshops on the Environmental Aspects of the NDP8 Review, October 1999, Workshops held with the purpose to identify any negative and positive environmental impacts of the planned policies, programs and projects. Also tried to address long term issues in need for action during the NDP9 period.

  • Technical Report 2 - Training Plan, December 1999, Findings and recommendations based on analysis of existing level of education and identified training needs in central and local government

  • Technical Report 3 - Workshops on Environmental Data for Planning, Summary Report, February 2000, Recommendations based on two workshops (Planners and Data Providers/Managers), indicated need for standards and a vision for integrated environmental data management at local, district and national level.  

  • Technical Report 4 - Analysis of Present and Future EIA Practices in Botswana (restricted for Government use only).

  • Technical Report 5 - Existing Environmental Databases in Botswana - An Overview, July 2000, A survey to form the basis for the mapping out the availability of data and information that might directly or indirectly support planning with environmental data.

  • Technical Report 6 - Workshop on EIA of Industrial Activities, 21-09-2000, This workshop aimed to identify main issues and to inform on the status of the draft EIA bill and the general manual drafted by NCSA.

  • Technical Report 7 - Workshop Proceedings (BIMEDA) 03-08-2000, November 2000, Discussion about the establishment of the Botswana Integrated Management system for Environmental Data (BIMEDA), including organisation, common data sets, formats and code lists.

  • Technical Report 8 - Central District Institutions Dealing with Environment and their Linkages, November 2000, Information in this report to consolidate project activities for inclusion of environmental concerns in the district development process. 

  • Technical Report 9 - Gaborone City Council Institutions dealing with Environment and their linkages, January 2001, Objective of the study is to analyse environmental management and planning roles of institutions in Gaborone Planning area, showing their roles and linkages with each other with specific emphasis on those influencing environmental planning. 

  • Technical Report 10 - Selebi Phikwe Town Council Institutions Dealing with Environment and their Linkages, January 2001 Information contained in the report will be used in the formulation and consolidation of (EPP) activities for inclusion of environmental concerns in the urban development planning process.  

  • Technical Report 11 - Analysis of the Concept of Environmental Liaison Officers in Local Authorities, November 2000, The report outlines options for the development of an Environmental Liaison Officer (ELO) strategy.

  • Technical Report 12 - Workshop no.2 on EIA of Industrial Activities, 02-11-2000, January 2001, The workshop aimed to make the participants aware of already existing environmental regulations and administrative procedures and to discuss in detail these administrative procedures under the proposed EIA legislation in relation to industrial activities. Some major changes to the proposed EIA Bill were also presented by NCSA.

  • Technical Report 13 - Environmental Audit of the District Development Plan 5, Central District - Workshop Proceedings, January 2001, This report is directed to key players in the development of District Development Plans and people who would potentially conduct environmental audit at the local and national levels.

  • Technical Report 14 - Revision of the Landboard Manual, February 2001, Recommended revision focuses on the integration of environmental concerns into the Land Board Manual and and supplements the review of procedures with easy to use guidelines/checklists.  

  • Technical Report 15 - Revision of Physical Planning Handbook, February 2001, Contains the recommendations of a working group which suggests changes and additions to include environmental concerns into the Physical Planning Handbook, the group recommends that a Physical Planning Manual be developed as a tool in the planning process.

  • Technical Report 16 - Environmental Audit of the Urban Development Plan 1 Selebi Phikwe, Workshop Proceedings, January 2001, Proceedings from two workshops with objective to collate information on the adequacy of the UDP1 in addressing environmental issues and policies.

  • Technical Report 17 - Revision of Planning Officers Manual, March 2001, The planning officers' manual describes the background of the national development planning system and gives detailed guidelines on processes to be followed. The report presents the recommendations for revision of the manual for the integration of environmental issues in existing planning procedures.

  • Technical Report 18 - Environmental Training of Government Officers, Evaluation Report, March 2001, Evaluation revisits the relevance, content and duration of courses, target groups, training methods and proposes a plan for future training.
