The Department of Art and Culture believes that all citizens should have equal acccess to the improvement off their lives. Therefore the department offers Grants to young people so that they could improve their lives.

Grant Fund Regulations:

Funds will only be allocated to arts and culture projects that fall within the following funding policies:

- Organisations must show that they have the capacity and skills to carry out the project;

- That the project will benefit and involve local people in its running, and/or show evedence of sustainability beyond the grant.

ASSESSMENT OF DAMAGES-MASTER'S OFFICE

ASSESSMENT OF DAMAGES

 

1.  SERVICE DESCRIPTION

 

Is the determination of the amount payable as compensation for the injury suffered by the applicant.  The award is made after considering surrounding circumstances and the evidence given in support of the claim.

 

2.  HOW DO I OBTAIN THE SERVICE?

 

After an order for assessment of damages has been made application is made to the Registrar for a date to be assigned for assessment of damages.  A notice of set down of the assessment is issued and served on the defendant.  Assessment of damages is usually done where the amount claimed is uncertain.

 

3.  HOW DO I APPLY FOR SERVICE?

 

Application for a date can be made by letter to the Registrar responsible, verbally or telephonically.  The application must give the details of the case to allow easy identification of the case.

 

4.  COSTS INVOLVED IN OBTAINING SERVICE

 

P30 for filing a supporting affidavit for the application for judgment.

ASSESSMENT OF SECURITY FOR COSTS

 

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

Assessment of security for costs following the determination by court that one of the parties to a case must provide security usually a foreigner or a plaintiff company or other litigants determined as liable to pay security. Security for costs is provided to secure costs for the party entitled to the costs.

HOW DO I OBTAIN THE SERVICE?

You apply for the service as soon as practicable after the court has determined that security must be furnished.

HOW DO I APPLY FOR SERVICE

You file a notice of set down to the Registrar after obtaining a date of assessment for the determination of the costs.

COST INVOLVED IN OBTAINING SERVICE

You require P20 for filing a notice under this service.

Public auctions are publicized through mass media.

This service is only open to citizens of the Republic of Botswana.

Participants are required to register at 0730hrs and auction starts at 0830hrs.

· Two (2) days is allowed for collection of purchased items.

1. Service Description

 Issuing the permit to export explosives to other countries

2. How do I obtain service

  •   Visit Depart of Mines, or mail to Department of Mines.
  •  The Authorisation can only be acquired if the applicant comply with the following requirements:

                                                  i.      If the applicant is an individual, he must be the holder of a valid Botswana blasting licence required

                                                ii.      If the applicant is a company, it must have in its employment a person holding valid Botswana blasting licences to accompany consignments.

                                              iii.      The applicant must have licensed explosives storage facility for the consignment for the purpose of storing before shipping.

                                              iv.      The applicant must have licensed transport facility for explosives.

                                                v.      Applicant exporting must register with the Department of Mines

3. How do I apply for the service

  • A written request accompanied by an application format prescribed by the DepartmentVisit Department of Mines office.
  •       A copy of the permit/authority to import explosives issued by the country to which the explosives to be exported
  • A copy of the valid purchase order from the importer in the foreign country
