SUSPENSION OF PAYMENTS UNDER ISPAAD-2012/13

The Ministry of Agriculture informs the farming community and the general public that the Integrated Support Programme for Arable Agriculture Development (ISPAAD) funds for 2012/13 financial year have been exhausted.

 

Therefore, payments for ISPAAD seeds, fertilizers and draught power subsidies to farmers, private tractor owners and other suppliers will be suspended until the beginning of April in the 2013/14 financial year.

 

However farmers, private tractor owners and suppliers are encouraged to continue to submit the relevant documents to their respective Agricultural Offices to process for payments in the next financial year.

 

As of 1st March 2013, a total of 204 266 at hectares was measured ploughed/planted by 56 216 farmers, while and 178 945 ha planted by 51 799 farmers have already been paid for draught power subsidy at a cost of P49, 388, 022.65. The figures for area ploughed/planted and area paid under ISPAAD subsidy are expected to increase as field measurement is still ongoing.

 

The Ministry sincerely regrets any inconvenience caused.
