TT IN THE YOP 5 AT MR PSD
TT in the Top 5 at Mr and Miss Public Service Day 2013 The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture staff cheered with gusto at their representatives in the Mr and Miss Public Service Day pageant last night held at Boipuso Hall. We were well represented in the men's section by Mr Tamapo Chiwutwa (Driver) and Mr Thatayaone Sentsho (IT officer). Mr Sentsho managed to get into the top 5 spot and answered the judges’ question very well. The question was ‘if you were to be crowned Mr PSD today, how would you improve public service delivery in Botswana?’ Sentsho was eloquent and even alluded to the theme to impress the judges. However, that was not enough as he was eliminated in the top 5 and could not proceed to the top 3.
The Principal Public Relations Officer for the Ombudsman Office, Mr Emmanuel Fenny Letshwiti won the first Mr Public Service Day after answered the one question that was posed to all the top 3, both male and female. The question was "what is the importance of the Mr and Miss Public Service Day pageant and how is it different from other pageants?"
Emmax's confidence and perfect response to the question satisfied the judges and he was crowned Mr Public Service Day 2013. The do which started at 730pm until 12 midnight was well organised except for the few revellers who seemed to have had one too many and kept heckling the contestants with boos and unruly and unbecoming behaviour. Directors of Ceremonies, Ms Boitumelo Seitebatso and Mr Lesego Mhutsiwa of Radio Botswana and Botswana Television kept the house in order and managed to keep the audience entertained. The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture was not represented in the women's category. The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture wishes Mr Letshwiti all the best as he prepares to deliver his mandate as the new face of the male public officers.
