Police Arrest Three Armed Robbery Suspects

Maun Police have arrested three Batswana men aged 25, 26 and 35 years in connection with two separate cases of armed robbery.

 In one of the cases the police have arrested one man for allegedly robbing Puma Filling Station of over P47 000 cash at gun point. He has since appeared before Maun Magistrate Court on 14/02/2013 and will appear again on 28/02/2013. The money and the firearm have been recovered.

In another case, the police have arrested two suspects linked to an armed robbery that occurred at River Ride Cash Loan and Bureau De Change on 14/02/2013 in which cash amounting to P7000 and cellphones were stolen. They were later arrested during a stop, question and search operation at Makalamabedi Foot and Mouth disease control gate.  Part of the stolen money and some items has since been recovered.  They will appear for mention before Maun Magistrate Court on 19/02/2013.

Still in Maun, the police are investigating a case in which Land Mark Shop was robbed of various stock items. The robbery occurred when about six people allegedly attacked two Security guards before breaking into the shop. The police are therefore appealing for any information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.
