Women police officers in the Northern Division

Women police officers in the Northern Division have donated pairs of school shoes and socks to 12 pupils from Robelelela Primary School.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony recently at Robelela, the Divisional Commander North, Senior Assistant Commissioner Dinah Marathe applauded the officers for the caring spirit they have demonstrated through the donations. She said the gesture was a reflection that police officers are not only pre-occupied with fighting crime but also take part in social responsibility activities.

Senior Assistant Commissioner Marathe also said the donations were in line with the ideals of one of the pillars of the National Vision of being a Compassionate, Just and Caring nation.  She added that the donations were also a life changing project since the 12 pupils would not walk to school bare footed.

Meanwhile, Ms Marathe also handed a vegetable garden to Robelela Home Based Care group. She said the Home Based Care group will be able to take care of the patients in the village adding that the donations will go a long way in strengthening the partnership between the police and the community.

The donations were part of the Vision 2016 Awareness Month projects handed over to Robelela communities as a way of improving their lives and fulfilling the Vision 2016 pillars.
