State Visit to Botswana by His Excellency Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 11-12 September 2012   The visit is a clear demonstration of the close ties that subsist between Botswana and Nigeria and will afford the two leaders an invaluable opportunity to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual concern. The discussions will also explore potential areas for cooperation in the areas of, among others, mining and energy as well as trade and investment. The visit will therefore serve to further enhance these relations for the mutual benefit of the two countries and their peoples.

State Visit to Botswana by His Excellency Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 11-12 September 2012

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation wishes to inform the nation that His Excellency the President  of the Republic of Botswana, Lt Gen. Seretse Ian Khama, will host the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on a two day State Visit from the 11th - 12th September 2012.

 

The visit is a clear demonstration of the close ties that subsist between Botswana and Nigeria and will afford the two leaders an invaluable opportunity  to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual concern.  The discussions will also explore potential areas for cooperation in the areas of, among others, mining and energy as well as trade and investment.  The visit will therefore serve to further enhance these relations for the mutual benefit of the two countries and their peoples.

 

President Jonathan will be accompanied by some Governors, Senators, Cabinet Ministers and Senior Government Officials.  Whilst in Botswana, President Jonathan will visit Jwaneng Mine and will also meet with the Business community in Botswana.

 

President Jonathan and his entourage will depart Gaborone on 12th September 2012.
