Multiple and concurrent partnership

Botswana Police Service HIV and AIDS focal persons were urged to continuously give their colleagues information that can assist them to understand the risks of engaging in multiple and concurrent partnership.

Speaking at a two-day workshop on multiple and concurrent partnership (MCP) today (07/09/11) in Gaborone, the head of Occupational Health Safety Chaplaincy and Social Welfare (OHSCSW) Assistant Commissioner Mrs Dolly Motladiile said MCP is still a challenge in Botswana and advised participants to continuously educate people about the dangers of having more than one partner.

She said discussion platforms such as community meetings, counselling and Churches could play a major role in sending MCP messages to targeted audiences.

She however urged the participants to encourage their male colleagues to use the safe male circumcision progranmme.

The workshop was attended by focal persons from Botswana Police Service branches.
