Ongoing police operations in Gaborone and the periphery have led to the arrest of 27 suspects for different criminal offences during the past week (29/05/11 to 05/06/11). The arrested suspects are 11 Batswana, 15 Zimbabweans and a South African.

They were arrested for among others, house breaking, escaping from lawful custody and possession of habit forming drugs.

In one of the cases the police arrested a 32-year-old Zimbabwean of Gabane for escaping from lawful custody at Mogoditshane Police Station. He was arrested for burglary and theft when he and two others, not yet arrested, escaped from custody.

In another case, the police arrested two men aged 24 and 25 years old who were wanted for an armed robbery that occurred in Mogoditshane last month.
