His Honour the Vice President, Lieutenant General Merafhe, retuned from the Republic of South Africa yesterday, where he had gone for his final medical checkup.

It is with great pleasure to announce that His Honour has been declared fit to return to work.  His Excellency the President, Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama, has therefore agreed that His Honour officially resume work on the 09th May, 2011.

His Excellency would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who gave their support and comfort to His Honour and his family during those difficult times, when he underwent medical treatment.

His Excellency would also like to take this opportunity to thank Honourable Dr. P. H. K. Kedikilwe for acting as the Vice President in the absence of His Honour Lieutenant General Merafhe.
