The 16th Aviation & Allied Business Leadership Conference will hold at the Gaborone International Convention Centre, Gaborone, Botswana from August 29 to 31, 2010. The Leadership Conference series has held annually since 1995 around the African continent and has become a rallying point for Ministers responsible for air transport and regulators of the air transport industry to deliberate on policy and socio-economic issues that affect the air transport industry in Africa. Over 250 delegates from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia and North America are expected at this international Conference.

The 16th Aviation & Allied Business Leadership Conference will hold at the Gaborone International Convention Centre, Gaborone, Botswana from August 29 to 31, 2010. The Leadership Conference series has held annually since 1995 around the African continent and has become a rallying point for Ministers responsible for air transport and regulators of the air transport industry to deliberate on policy and socio-economic issues that affect the air transport industry in Africa. Over 250 delegates from Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia and North America are expected at this international Conference.

 

As a leading aviation event in Africa, the Leadership Conference is held on rotational basis among African countries. It has been held in Nigeria (Abuja 1995 - 2001), South Africa (Johannesburg 2002, 2003 and 2008), in Kenya (Nairobi 2004) in Ethiopia (Addis Ababa 2005 and 2009) in Senegal (Dakar 2006) in Ghana (Accra 2007).

 

The 16th edition of the Conference which will be hosted  under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport and Communications through the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana will be attended by Honourable Frank Ramsden, Minister of Transport and Communications, Botswana. His Excellency Kuma Deriba, Minister of Transport and Communications, Ethiopia and His Excellency Mikidar Houmadi, Minister of Transport, Comoros have also confirmed their attendance to this pan-African event. Similarly, confirmations have also been received from heads of multilateral agencies such as ICAO, AFRAA, IATA, ACI-Africa and UNECA, The CEO's of Kenya Airways, South African Airways, Ethiopian Airlines alongside heads of CAA's and airport organisations and front-line experts in African and global aviation have accepted to facilitate deliberations at the Conference.
