Projects Update

Maintenance of Botsalano Primary School
Project ongoing and at 81% complete. Re roofing has been completed.

Construction of 2 houses for destitute persons in Ramotswa and Otse village
Both projects are 92% complete. The contractors are working on finishing touches (painting, clearing sites).

Backlog Eradication Package 30(Mokgosi, Siga, kgetheng,St. Bernards& St. Condrad's school.)
The first contractor was terminated and awarded to a new one. The site was handed over on the 15/07/09 and the contractor has mobilised.

Backlog Package 52, Botsalano, Kgosi Kgosi, Batlokwa and Mafitlhakgosi
Project is in progress and it was 68% as at end June 2009. Most of staff houses are complete and class rooms the contractor is doing plastering works.

Electrification of Primary school facilities (District)

The SEDC has prepared and submitted a Project Addendum amounting to P1.9m and to date we have been to issued any funds. Project is 100% complete and paid using other projects funds. Therefore, only retention funds are not paid yet.

Construction of clinic with maternity at Magope in Ramotswa

This project was withdrawn from PIU. Currently the district is working on the documents to invite tenders for construction.

Design and Construction of 35 Public Health Houses in South East

The project is progressing and sites for 35 houses are identified. Site was handed over on the 30 July 2009 for design.

Extension of Ramotswa & Tlokweng RAC- Design and Construction

The consultants engaged have been appointed and site was handed on the 27 July 2009. Construction will commence after design phase is complete.

Ipelegeng-South East South and North Projects

Projects expected to commence beginning of September and to be completed in March 2010. Beneficiaries (workers) will be given the break during the month of December to allow them to go and plough.

Development Projects

Poultry projects in Ramotswa & Matlapekwe - The shelter for the Ko-Dikokong poultry project is complete and chickens are being ordered which are expected to be delivered on 2nd week of August. The Itekeng Bomme project was still delayed due to plot issues that needed to be resolved first.

Village Infrastructure

Consultancy and Construction of 24 km roads and storm water drainage facilities and streetlights in Tlokweng – The tender was awarded on the 4 August 2009 and construction expected to commence in September 2009.

Consultancy and Construction of 34km roads and storm water drainage facilities and streetlights in Ramotswa and Taung - The project was awarded to Zac Construction Company. Physical status is at 30% against 47% of the time elapsed. Relocation of services started for (BPC, BTC & Water Affairs).
