Commercial Affairs
Commercial Affairs is a unit under Finance and Development Department charged with the responsibilities of regulating the formal, informal and industrial licence businesses within the jurisdiction of the South East District. Although the commercial section is charged with the above responsibilities, there are two different committees established under these Acts which are mandated by the Minister of Trade and Industry.
The Trade Licensing Committee
It was established under the Trade Act of 2004 and Industrial Development Act of 2006. The committee meets on weekly basis to consider applications for Trade licences as well as Industrial licences.
The Liquor Control Authority
It meets on monthly basis and considers application for liquor outlets.
