SIGN LANGUAGE TRAINING FOR INTERNS The Ministry of Youth, Sport & Culture in partnership with the Botswana Society for the Deaf, shall be running SIGN LANGUAGE Training (level 1 & 2) starting from the 24th November 2014
The training targets 150 interns who are delivering primary human rights services; The objectives of this initiative include the following:- - To enhance the employability of interns in sectors that deliver primary human rights services; this is considering that Sign Language Interpretation is a scarce skill - Mainstream disability issues, through popularizing the Sign Language as an alternative language in service delivery; - Increase accessibility of services to youth and people with disabilities;
This initiative is a deliberate, targeted approach by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture, the objective of which is to advance inclusive development. Interested Interns in the selected focus areas (Omang Services, HealthCare Services, DPP & Legal Aid, Police and Social & Community Development) can register their interest in the Sign Language Training, by emailing to sphuti@gov.bw or 3995427 by the 19th November 2014;
