SELIBE PHIKWE TO HOST INTERNATIONAL GIRLS IN ICT DAY

The Ministry of Transport and Communications in collaboration with its stakeholders will observe the International Girls in ICT Day in Selibe Phikwe on the 24th April 2014. The International Girls in ICT Day is an initiative of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) that is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of April every year. Its aim is to create an environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). Teenage girls and university students are invited to spend the day at offices of ICT companies, government agencies and academic institutions so they better understand the opportunities the ICT sector holds for their future.
