Member of Parliament for Kgalagadi South, Hon. John K. Toto and Member of Parliament for Gaborone South, Hon. Kagiso P.  Molatlhegi left for Nairobi, Kenya, to attend the Conservation Council of Nations (CCN) Inter-Parliamentary Summit on Poaching and Natural Capital in Africa. The summit is scheduled for 21st -22nd August 2012.

The two Members of Parliament have been invited as Members of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Wildlife, Tourism, Natural Resources and Climate Change.  The summit will feature Members of Parliament from throughout Africa as well as visiting members of the United States Congress.

Botswana will make a presentation on national environmental and resource-based priorities of Botswana as well as collaborate and partner for mutual success with different stakeholders and visiting delegations.

The CCN’s parliamentary network focuses on created shared value and assists countries with meeting their national goals with respect to the environment & development, natural resource management and natural capital.

The Honourable Members are expected back on the 23rd August 2012.
