Training and Educational Grants
Public officers are encouraged to undertake part-time studies in their spare time, with reputable institutions, in fields relevant to their work.
Thus, and provided that prior support and approval has been granted by the Accounting Officer, an officer on private part-time studies on a course relevant to his/her field of work may be given financial support by reimbursement on production of receipts. This support is normally conditional upon successful progress in the course, or upon passing (General Orders 259.6).
Public officers on private part-time studies may also be granted ten (10) days paid study leave to prepare for examinations immediately before the actual days of the examinations (General Order 259.7).
Where an officer on fulltime training fails part of the training programme he/she is encouraged to either complete the course or re-sit the examination on an external basis.
