In a drive to promote government's poverty eradication strategy, the Office of the President's Community Service day will be commemorated through the Market Day. His Excellency the President will officially launch a Market Day on 1st April 2011, from 0800 to 1530hours at Gaborone Senior Secondary School grounds.

Under the theme, "Nyeletso lehuma, boikarabelo jame le wena" (Poverty eradication, our responsibility), the Market Day also seeks to create a forum for networking and knowledge sharing; provide a platform for market access; and create awareness of the poverty eradication through backyard gardens, backyard nurseries, handicrafts, honey production sales etc.

The Market Day will be open to the public and there will be a wide variety of goods for sale including;

* Vegetables;
* Crafts (pottery, beadwork, hunting sets, woodwork, upholstery, shells);
* Beekeeping and others such as atchar, yoghurt and bakery products
* Nursery and veldt products (shade trees, fruit trees)
