Appointments to Cabinet and the Senior Civil Service

The Acting Permanent Secretary to the President and Secretary of Cabinet, Ms. Botshelo Mathuba, has announced that His Excellency the President, Lieutenant General Seretse Khama Ian Khama, has made the following appointments to Cabinet with effect from the 1st of November 2011:

• The Honourable Dikgakgamatso Seretse has been appointed as the Minister of Justice, Defence and Security

• The Honourable Edwin Batshu has been appointed as the Minister of Labour and Home Affairs.

• The Honourable Peter Siele has been appointed as the Minister of Local Government

• The Honourable Lebonamang Mokalake has been appointed as the Minister of Lands and Housing

• The Honourable Nonofo Molefi has been appointed as the Minister of Transport and Communication.

The Acting Permanent Secretary to the President has further announced the following Appointments and Transfers in the Senior Civil Service with effect from the 1st November 2011:

• Mr.Thato Raphaka has been appointed as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Communication, having been transferred from the Ministry of Local Government;

• Mrs. Goitsemang Morekisi has been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Transport and Communication, having been transferred from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning;

• Mr. Mabua Mabua has been appointed as the Coordinator for Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) still in the Ministry of Transport and Communication;

• Mr. Boipolelo Khumomatlhare has been promoted to become the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government;

• Ms. Halakangwa Mbulai has been appointed Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government, ;

• Mr. Lisani Mannathoko to has been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning for Corporate Services, having been transferred from Lands and Housing; and

• Mr. Peter Mongwaketse has been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture for Sport, having been transferred from the Ministry of Local Government
