The police arrest 35 suspects

Ongoing police operations in and around Gaborone have resulted in the arrests of 25 Batswana and ten foreign nationals for various criminal offences during the past week.

Items recovered from the suspects included, computers and accessories, television sets, clothing and various household and businesses equipment.

Three Batswana men aged between 23 and 47 years have been arrested for an armed robbery that occurred at New Canada recently. A computer and a television set were recovered from the suspects.

One of the suspects has been on the police wanted list for several break-in cases reported at Broadhurst and Gaborone West Police Stations. They are likely to be charged for possession of suspected stolen property.

Meanwhile four Peruvians and three Batswana were arrested on Sunday for Theft Common that occurred in some hotels in Gaborone and the Sir Seretse Khama Airport terminal. The police recovered from the suspects, goods that are associated with the cases. Another suspect who is a Peruvian national, is believed to have crossed the border into South Africa before he could be arrested.

Police investigations also led to the arrest of six Zimbabweans and a Motswana who are linked to a series of recent break-ins in Mogoditshane and surrounding areas.  Items recovered from the suspects include laptops, clothing and music systems.

In yet another case, the police arrested a 28-year-old Motswana man of Tlokweng for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle. The vehicle has been impounded pending further investigations.

The police have arrested a 30 year old man of White City in Gaborone who has been on the police wanted for a series of break-ins reported at various police stations. The man is also wanted list for the offence of escaping from lawful custody.
