Commanders urged to speed cases
20/08/10

The Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Mr Kenny Kapinga has urged police commanders to improve case management systems to avoid backlog of cases at police stations.

Speaking at a workshop organised for station commanders from Gaborone and surrounding areas recently Mr Kapinga said the backlog of cases at police stations was a concern and called on station commanders to come up with efficient case management strategies that would reduce backlog at police stations.

He said Gaborone and surrounding areas account for more than half of the cases recorded in the South Central Division, the situation he said required mutual relationships with members of the public. He further urged them to give feedback to customers on the status of their cases on time.

The one day workshop was aimed at reviewing the role of station commanders in case management, share best practices and to formulate new systems with a view to enhance efficacy in case management.
