Tati Nickel Mining Company has donated a porta cabin worth over P135 000 to the Botswana Police Service.
When receiving the porta cabin on Wednesday (25.04.2012) in Francistown, the Commissioner of Police Mr Thebeyame Tsimako thanked Tati Nickel Mining Company for the gesture saying the support facility will be used as Molapo Estate Satellite Police Station. He said the porta cabin will cater for residents of Molapo Estate, Garden View, Selepa, Satellite and nearby communities who were disturbed by increasing crime such as house break-ins, robberies and breaking into motor vehicles.
Mr Tsimako pointed out that the introduction of the facility and implementation of policing strategies and initiatives will reverse the negative crime trend in the area. He said it was because of the increasing crime in Molapo Esatate that Tati Nickel Mining Company found it fit to donate the porta cabin to help the police and Molapo Estate policing clusters to fight crime in their locality. Mr Tsimako also expressed appreciation at the support the Botswana Police Service continues to receive from the business community in general especially during this time of economic hardships. He said the business community has donated similar structures in Gaborone at Block 5 and 6, and at Monarch location in Francistown. The Commissioner was hopeful that such initiatives will be extended to other areas in the country.
