Salary depends on educational qualification. 

Constables

• Cambridge School Certificate with third and above class with a Credit in English – B3 scale first notch plus 15% of the salary (Police overtime allowance).
• COSC with Tirelo Sechaba – B3 scale second notch plus 15% of the salary (Police overtime allowance).
• BGCSE – 30 points (Calculated on any best 6 subjects) and above with at least ‘C’ in English
• Automatic Progression to B2 salary scale after completion of training and to B1 salary scale after confirmation (2 years after attestation date)

 Cadets

•  Diploma - C.4 salary scale plus 15% of the salary (Police overtime allowance). The notch will depend on the course studied.
• First Degree - C.3 salary scale plus 15% of the salary (Police Overtime Allowance). The notch would depend on the course studied. LLB graduates are placed at C. 2.
• Masters Degree - C.3 scale (Two notches above the entry point of junior degree plus 15% of the salary (Police overtime allowance).
