POLICE WEEKLY CRIME REPORT FROM 10/12/2012 TO 16/12/2012
As the festive season approaches, Botswana Police Service would like to advise motorists to drive safely to avoid road accidents. Since January to date, 372 people have died in road traffic accidents.
It is against this background that motorists are urged to refrain from drinking alcohol whilst driving, speeding, and driving without due care and attention to avoid unnecessary loss of life. The public is further urged to ensure that their vehicles are road worthy. Further more the public is urged to take necessary precautions in safe-guarding their homes and businesses. They are encouraged to engage security companies to patrol their homes and businesses and effectively engage in neighborhood watch programmes. They should be reminded that leaving their houses without anybody keeping watch gives opportunity to criminals.
As usual the police in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies will intensify their operations hence the need for the public to give support and cooperation.
