General description:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide information, Education and Communication audio-visual materials specifically the production of film/video and television programs and products that inform and educate on health issues as well as promoting the Ministry of Health.

Job description:

DUTIES:

1. Delivers editing and postproduction work for a variety of Ministry of Health production including television programs, corporate videos, education and marketing video / films.

2. Assembles and sequences material including raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics elements and special effects into finished products for broadcasting.

3. Liases with director/producer to execute offline as well as online editing.

4. Delivers final production to required quality and specifications, executing all aspects of postproduction work including, correcting faulty footage, grading/colouring.adding special effects and music to finish film or TV products to achieve the desired result.

 

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

1. Technical film/TV editing processes and techniques with a thorough knowledge of digital SD/HD video     & audio editing/mastering and finishing.

2. Technical television /film/video production skills

3. Excellent organizational and production coordinating skills

4. Ability to communicate fluently in English and Setswana

5. Knowledge of Avid Media Composer as well as Pro Tools will be an added advantage.

 

Job requirements:

QUALIFICATION: A recognized Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Film/Video/Television Production or a related media production/visual communication field.

BENEFITS:  A. Optional contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% Employee 50%) B. Contributory Pension (Government contributes 15% and employee contributes 5% of basic salary)

LEAVE: 25 working days per annum.

EXPERIENCE: At least two years work experience in film/video production involving television production with sound understanding production process including editing and postproduction work.
