For government AI camps, it costs P20 per cow (P10 for semen and another P10 as grazing fee) and only five animals (5) will be allowed per brand to be inseminated with locally collected/tapped semen. The breeding programme runs from September to March. However, prices vary with imported semen as it is a bit expensive. For private on-farm AI, equipment costs P6055.30. However, this cost estimate may change from time to time depending on the supplier’s prices. Training of inseminators is free. Bull fertility testing cost P175 per bull.
