The business community, farmers and the general public are informed that the Francistown City Council, Tutume, Tonota, Selebi-Phikwe Town Council, Bobonong and Mmadinare Abattoirs will be opened on Tuesday 23rd August 2011 to slaughter cloven hoofed animals that are sourced outside zone 6 and zone 7.
The animals must be transported in sealed vehicles and issued a Livestock Movement Permit only for direct slaughter at the above abattoirs. Butchery operators are advised to arrange for quotas with management of the respective abattoirs to avoid overcrowding of cattle at the slaughter facilities.
