a. Livestock Management and Infrastructure Development (LIMID)
LIMID is one of the main Agricultural Support Schemes and is composed of animal husbandry and fodder support, water development, cooperative poultry abattoirs for small-scale poultry producers, small stock, guinea fowl and Tswana chickens. This support scheme is available to Botswana citizens only.
Objectives
- Promote food security through improved productivity of livestock (cattle and small stock)
- Improve livestock management
- Improve range resource management and conservation
- Alleviate poverty
- Provide safe and hygiene poultry

- Animal Husbandry and fodder support

§ Chaff cutters/ fodder processor
§ Kraals, Crushes and Loading ramps
§ Fodder barn
- Borehole/Well Equipping, Drilling and Purchase and Reticulation
§ Borehole/Well equipping
§ Borehole purchase
§ Borehole/Well drilling
§ Water reticulation
- Small stock support (sheep and goats)
- Guinea fowl
- Tswana chickens
- Poultry abattoirs
Guinea fowls, Tswana chickens and small sock components are for Poor resource farmers only.

Contact the nearest veterinary office. Application forms are there and help is available on how to fill the forms.
How do I apply for the service?
Forms are available at the nearest Department of Veterinary Services.
Application requirements
- 18 years old and copy of Omang (Valid).
- Cattle or goats / sheep ownership.
- Copy of Land Board certificates for plots (Guinea fowl and Tswana chickens)
- Copy of Land Board certificate for boreholes( Equipping, purchase and reticulation)
- Copy of registered cattle brand.
- Groups must have constitution or fill partnership agreement form.
- Provide quotations.
- State current livestock numbers as verified by extension agents.
- Project lifespan 10 years
