Nteletsa II is a Rural Telecommunications Development Programme aimed at providing communities with access to telecommunications services. These include voice, data and internet services.
197 villages have been identified and have been divided into four (4) areas namely;
Area 1: 59 villages in Chobe, Ghanzi, kgalagadi and North West Districts.
Area 2: 62 Villages in Central, Kgatleng, kweneng, Southern and Kgalagadi (South) Districts.
Area 3: 35 Villages in Central and North West Districts.
Area 4: 42 villages in Kgatleng and Central Districts.
Parallel to this project BotswanaPost undertakes a one stop ICT centre commonly known as Kitsong centres. They provide the following services:
This service allows the public to make duplicates of original documents in colour and black white.
This service allows the public to surf the Internet and use the e-mail services
This service allows the public to send text information electronically
This service allows the public to preserve paper information by covering it with resilient plastic.
This service converts hard copies into soft copy by taking their images for storage or transmission
This service allows the public to type information into the computer for printing, transmission or storage.
Printing This service allows the public to print information from the desktop and other storage media using a computer.
