The Department has taken the decision to embark on the enforcement exercise as compared to the usual educational strategy which has been our focus for quite sometimes now. The operation will focus on all key vehicle components issues and their compliance with the Road Traffic legislation. Thus all road users are encouraged to continue their cooperation and support to officers who will be working at the above stipulated areas.

On a similar note, the public is informed that all motorists who would like to have their vehicles inspected should do so before the 15 July 2010 as there will be no roadworthiness tests administered during the operation period.

We finally wish to appeal to all road users to use the road cautiously and avoid road accidents. Paramount to safe road usage are wearing of  seat belts by all vehicle occupants; sticking to speed limits; non-taking of alcohol whilst driving and safe walking or crossing of the road by pedestrian.
