ROADS TRAINING CENTRE GRADUATION TO BE HELD ON THE 13TH DECEMBER 2013

The Director of InfraAfrica, a Botswana based Civil Engeering Consulting, Mr Mike Pinard will officiate at the 40th Roads Training Centre (RTC) Graduation Ceremony to be held the 13th December, 2013 at Maharaja Restaurant from 0800 hours to 1100 hours.

Roads Training Centre is a public tertiary institution and a training division of the Roads Department under the Ministry of Transport and Communications. RTC offers training in Highway Engineering at Certificate and Diploma levels and Plant Operator Course as well as Labour Based Technology Courses at trade levels.

Initially, the institution offered training to graduates who would then join the Roads Department on its Technical Divisions. Since 1993 the institution started to offer training for the whole roads sub-sector.

RTC graduates are in high demand in the roads sub-sector to understudy the a relatively large number of expatriate labour in the road sub-sector

Graduates from RTC are employed by Roads Department in the Central Government, Council Roads Units at Local Government, Botswana Defence Force and Railways. The same are also employed by contractors and consultants, not only in the roads sub-sector, but also in the building sub-sector. Some of these graduates have since started their own companies and there is at least one RTC graduate in road development project.

The ceremony will see conferment of diplomas and certificates to 85 graduates including heavy plan Operators.
