Expression of Interest- Maintenance Manual
28/02/11
Members of the public in the Roads construction industry are invited to express interest to attend the launching of Botswana’s first Road Maintenance Manual (BRMM).

Members of the public in the Roads construction industry are invited to express interest to attend the launching of Botswana’s first Road Maintenance Manual (BRMM).

The Ministry of Transport and Communications, in collaboration with the Department of Roads will officially launch BRMM at a date to be announced. This follows years of preparations by the Roads Department, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (NPRA), and international experts to compile a manual that will set standards of how Botswana’s Road Network should be maintained. Consultations were also carried out with relevant stakeholders including Local Government.

The Road Maintenance Manual will assist in the preservation of Botswana’s Public Road asset currently worth more than fifteen (15) billion pula for the benefit of the country and its road users.

The BRMM is divided into four (4) parts covering Maintenance Management, Standards, Operational Proceedings, and Specifications. It will therefore serve as a reference national document to be used by various government institutions including the Department of Roads, the Ministry of Local Government (local authorities), the Department of Wildlife & National Parks, and the Botswana Defense Force; predominantly  institutions of government which carry out road maintenance.

The attendance is free; however consultants and contractors must be registered under the relevant code of work at the PPADB. Please send the following information if you so wish to attend.
