DRTS CONCERNED ABOUT EXPIRED PROFFESIONAL DRIVING PERMIT (PrDP)
The Department of Road Transport and Safety is concerned with the high numbers of its customers who fail to renew their Professional Driving Permit (PrDP) on time and come to DRTS offices to seek pardoning on this matter. In reference to the above, the Road Traffic Act Section 11 sub Section 14 states that the validity of a PrDP shall expire after two years, on the last day of the month preceding the month in which it was issued. Sub section 17 - Where the application of for the renewal of a PrDP license is made after 30 days of its expiry, the PrDP holder shall be subjected to a full test as stipulated in Regulation 13. The Department wishes to remind all PrDP holders to ensure that they renew their documents before they expire to avoid the inconvenience of having to undergo the tests all over again. For further clarity on this issue please contact the Department’s Public Relations Officer on 3905271.
