The Department of Information Services (DIS) was formally established in April 2004 following the splitting of the then Department of Information and Broadcasting (DIB) into two departments.

Department of Information Technology(DIT)

The Department of Information Technology (DIT) originally known as the “Government Computer Bureau” was transferred from the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning to then Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology in 2002 and no a part of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
