Army students from Tanzania Military College briefed on trade and investment opportunities in opportunities Botswana.

7/09/11 Over 20 army students from Command and Staff College, Tanzania were yesterday briefed by the Ministry of Trade and Industry executive, on trade and investment opportunities in opportunities Botswana. 
Command and Staff College is a military college that trains and prepares Military Senior Officers to undertake various senior staff and commands appointments and duties.
The delegations of senior army officers are on a study tour to broaden their knowledge about other parts of Africa as well as the rest of the world, as part of the course they are undertaking to prepare for more senior appointments.
The course package includes national and international Affairs subjects.  The students were drawn from different countries that include Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi and Tanzania.
The delegation was informed that Botswana and the SADC region enjoy a stable political environment since the past few decades which makes it a good place for investment.
In addition Botswana has access to both regional and international markets through bilateral and multilateral agreements.  Furthermore to both of these markets Botswana enjoys quota free and duty free markets in Europe, SADC and SACU.
The delegation was further informed that Botswana has an attractive tax regime which is rated the lowest in the region, negotiable tax holiday of up to a maximum of 10 years and an allowance for free repatriation of profits.
