Payless makes a big leap

23/07/13: One of the biggest local franchise, PAYLESS made a big leap today by opening the 6th grocery stores outlet in the country at Bontleng area in the capital City Gaborone.
PAYLESS franchise group started operating in the country in the early 70s during which it owned the only grocery shop at the Gaborone City Main Mall popularly known as Corner Supermarket.  To date the franchise is proud that it managed to establish six (6) grocery stores countrywide which created 300 jobs for the citizens. The PAYLESS franchise under the Fours Cash and Carry group intends to establish 26 grocery shops countrywide by the year 2015 in the areas such as Ramotswa and Molepolole.
Officially opening the Bontleng PAYLESS Supermarket, the Minister of Trade and Industry Dorcas Makgato-Malesu said she is proud that the shop is contributing to “my main mandate of creating employment and wealth as well as facilitating economic Diversification”.
“To demonstrate their commitment to economic diversification initiative PAYLESS revealed that it is able to procure fresh produce worth P700 000, locally”, Malesu noted.
