THE MINISTER OF MINERALS, ENERGY AND WATER RESOURCES LEAVES FOR TOKYO, JAPAN
The Minister of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources, Hon Onkokame Kitso Mokaila leaves for Tokyo, Japan on the 14th May 2013, on an official business to attend the Africa-Japan Ministerial Meeting for Natural Resources Development. The meeting, which will be organized in two parts, being the Japan Sustainable Mining, Investment and Technology Business Forum and the Ministerial meeting, is expected to give African Ministers responsible for Natural Resources, an opportunity to deliberate on issues of sustainable mining development, investment promotion, technical cooperation with the Japanese. The Honourable Minister will participate in both meetings and is expected to give a keynote presentation on “Botswana’s Mining Industry Policy under the Copper, Lead and Zinc” at the Business Forum. While in Japan, the Hon Minister will meet with the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry for bilateral talks. The Honourable Minister will be accompanied by senior officials from the ministry and is expected back home on the 20th May 2013.
