Collection of royalties on behalf of the Government

2. Who pays

• All mining concessions (mining licences, minerals permit)

3. How do I pay

Royalties payable shall be the following percentage of gross market value for the minerals payable monthly to the Botswana Government through the Director of Mines.

Mineral Type                                                             Percentage

Precious stones                                                            10%

Precious metals                                                            5%

Other minerals or mining products                                 3%

Royalties payable shall be the following perentage of gross market value. Gross market value is defined as the sale vlue receivable at the mine gate in an arms length transaction without discounts, commissions or deductions for the mineral or mineral product on disposal.

• Visit revenue collection officer at Department of Mines offices in Gaborone or Francistown with your payment (cash or cheque)
