Job description:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • To manage, direct and supervise the Home Economics Division.

 DUTIES:

  • Supervises and guides subordinates in accordance with the set standards.
  • Manages, coordinates and directs the Home Economics Division.
  • Develops guidelines and standards on the implementation of Home Economics Programmes.
  • Oversees the implementation of Early Childhood and Education Policy to ensure compliance.
  • Liaises with other stakeholders on issues relating to Home Economics (Fairs, seminars, workshops and commemorations).
  • Assesses the effectiveness and impact of the Home Economics Rehabilitation Projects and takes appropriate action where necessary.
  • Facilitates and organizes training for vulnerable groups on entrepreneurial skills in order to equip then with business management skills.
  • Coordinates and advises on small entrepreneurship among the disadvantaged and vulnerable groups for economic sustainability and diversity.
  • Identifies stakeholders and sources for funding and other contributions for rehabilitation programme.
  • Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.

Job requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Degree in Home Economics (Management) or related field.

EXPERIENCE:         

  • 10 years relevant on the job experience, 2 years of which must have been served at D3 level.
