Job description:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • To plan, coordinate and monitor provision of electrical services in Council facilities and associated infrastructure.

DUTIES

  • Supervises and guides subordinates in accordance with set standards.
  • Manages and directs the Electrical Services Division to ensure effective implementation of projects.
  • Coordinates operations pertaining to maintenance of electrical installations, systems, plant, facilities, equipment and services to ensure that they conform to established legislation, regulations and policies and recognized engineering standards.
  • Provides technical advice on all electrical matters for informed decision making to key stakeholders.
  • Coordinates electrical designs to ensure adherence to electrical codes and standards for effective implementation of projects.
  • Reviews final draft design report, detailing specifications, bills of quantity necessary for new electrical engineering projects to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.

Job requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:                

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:                      

  • 10 years of relevant work experience, 2 of which must have been served as Principal Electrical Engineer II – D3.
