Job description:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • To manage, direct and supervise the Community Development Division.

DUTIES

  • Supervises and guides subordinates in accordance with the set standards.
  • Provides strategic leadership for the implementation of all Community Development Project in the District.
  • Supervises the Community Development Programs to ensure that they meet the desired objectives.
  • Prepares budget for proposed Community Projects for incorporation into the Council budget.
  • Develops Community Development Programmes geared towards improving the livelihoods of the various communities.
  • Manages and supervises the implementation of Community Development Programs.
  • Engages in poverty alleviation promotion activities both at community and national level.
  • Develops and maintains partnership with other stakeholders for collaborative planning and implementation of integrated Community Development Programmes.
  • Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.

Job requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Degree qualification in Community/Adult Education or related field.

EXPERIENCE:         

  • At least 10 years relevant work experience, 2 of which must have been served at D3 level.
