MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

• To provide counseling services and legal advice to Council.

DUTIES:

• Provides legal advice on the formulation, review and enforcement of council bye-laws and relevant statutes.
• Provides counseling services on behalf of Council on cases where Council is being sued or suing.
• Provide draughting service in the formulation of legal instruments.
• Assesses the legal instruments to determine deficiencies and advices accordingly.
• Supervises and guides subordinates in accordance with set standards.
• Undertakes any other related duties as directed by management.

Qualifications:  

• Degree qualification in LLB plus admission to the Bench.

Experience:         

• At least 10 years relevant work experience, 2 of which must have been served at D3 level.
