General description:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens for the below indicated vacancies in the Ministry of Local Government.

  • To organize, plan and manage all the activities of Department of Local Government Finance & Procurement Services
Job description:

Key Performance Areas

  • Oversees financial controls for Local Authorities
  • Supervises the preparation and issuance of Rateable Value Estimates (RVE) for Local Authorities Finance Unit (LAFU)
  • Promotes and maintains accountability for funds and resources in Local Authorities.
  • Coordinates procurement processes in Local Authorities
  • Manages timely and equal distribution of primary Schools stationery, furniture and equipment
  • Monitors timely delivery and distribution of adequate, safe and quality food items
  • Provides Departmental leadership and direction in the execution of policies pertaining to the Department

Job requirements:

Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related qualifications.

Experience:

At least 16 years relevant post qualification experience. Applicants must have served at E2 salary scale or equivalent level for at least two years.
