General description:

Main Purpose of the job:

To manage promotion of Socio-economic and cultural development of remote area communities

Job description:

Duties:

  • Coordinates implementation of Remote Area Development policies, programmes and projects at national level.
  • Provides professional guidance on the implementation of all projects undertaken.
  • Facilitates in the strategic committees for the implementation of all projects in the division
  • Coordinates committee’s deliberations including appraisal of such for the implementation of all projects monitoring and review committees.
  • Promotes policies on community mobilization and community participation through village/ward development committees.
  • Monitors the annual performance plans, and supervises development performance plans and settlement development.
  • Reviews and continually monitors annual performance to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Facilitates and participates in the development/review of Remote Area Development policies and service standards.
  • Coordinates research projects for the sections and department decisions as directed by accounting officers.
  • Develops a framework for disseminating information on policies.
  • Develop data bases for both projects and programmes.
  • Coordinates and monitors implementation of EPF projects.
  • Coordinates preparations of monitoring and tracking tools and framework on implementation of policies, plans, programmes, projects and guidelines.
  • Evaluates and analyses the Local Government policies, plans, programmes, projects and guidelines
  • Coordinated preparation of reports, position papers, cabinet information and DPIC reports.
  • Conducts feasibility and market studies for income generating projects under RADP.
  • Links the settlements with donors and other ministries for purposes of funding community initiatives.
  • Undertakes any other related duties as may be assigned by Management.
Job requirements:

Qualifications:            

Degree in Community Development or related field from a recognized university.
