General description:

Applications are invited from suitably qualified employees from Ministry of Local Government for the vacant posts of Assistant District Commissioner in various stations.

Job description:

  MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To assist in coordinating the implementation of Government policies, strategies and programmes in a District/ Sub district.

  DUTIES:

  • Assists in the provision of strategic leadership and direction for the achievement of Central Government objectives at District/Sub District level.
  • Coordinates implementation of management and administrative strategies for the smooth running of the District/Sub District.
  • Assists in directing and coordinating projects of the Central Government Departments at the District/ Sub District.
  • Presides over, assesses and provides advice on complaints presented to the office and counsels the disputing parties with a view to reaching a lasting settlement to the problem.
  • Assists in coordinating the formulation, drafting and implementation of District development plans and programmes at District/Sub – District level.
  • Assists in the management and review of performance of heads of government Departments in the District/ Sub District.
  • Prepares annual estimates of recurrent expenditure and development expenditure for the District/ Sub District.
Job requirements:

  QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Business Administration/Human Resources Management/ Public Administration/ Economics or any related field.

  EXPERIENCE

  • 10 years post qualification experience in the field of Human Resource Management or Development Planning.
  • Candidates should have served as Assistant Manager, District Officer (Administration) or Principal District Officer (Development) for a minimum of two years.
