NATALE AND SHASHE-MOOKE ALSO BENEFIT FROM ESP

As Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) projects have been launched across the country, Natale and Shashe-Mooke fell among the privileged villages to benefit from this initiative. Under Tribal and Administration Natale villages recently launched a ground breaking ceremony of their Kgotla Offices. The ground breaking was officiated by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Hon. Slumber Tsogwane.

When giving his speech, during the Natale ground breaking, Hon Tsogwane noted that the ministry vows to continue implementing projects through urban and rural district Councils to ensure that ownership and participation in the projects remains as the local level. With the two Kgotla office structures in Tonota Sub-District, the Minister explained that the expectation is that they will be finished well on time to help improve the working conditions for tribal staff and also improve service delivery and livelihoods of the public.

With the tenders for doing the projects having been awarded to Batswana, Hon Tsogwane urged the contractors to be diligent and produce quality work without defects to prove that Batswana are capable of producing work of unquestionable quality. Since the awarding of these tenders was also done to help benefit the community within which the projects are being done to help create employment, the Minister also urged residents to desist from choosing jobs as several contractors have complained about residents not showing any interest in working with them.

On his part the Contractor Mr Koontse Koontse appreciated the Government for the chance given to him to serve Batswana through providing his services and building the offices. Although he is a person living with disability, he explained that it will not limit his performance as he knows that he also has to play a part in delivering the best for the good of the country and the services the community expects from the government.  He continued to explain that with the support and help he has been getting from the Village Development Committee, Village Leadership, Inspectors and an inspirational present in form of a lap top for His Excellency The President Dr. Seretse Kham Ian Khama he owes it to them and the nation at large to deliver well on time.

With his main wish having been to see the Kgotla developing while he was still alive, Kgosi Batshogile Adam appreciated the government for making such a wish happen to him and his people. He appreciated the government for having thought of ESP as it is now helping to boost the economy even in areas that were least expected to be developed soon like the Kgotla.

The Hon. Minister of Youth Sport and Culture who is also the area Member of Parliament Hon. Thapelo Olopeng also applauded the Government for ESP and the developments it has brought to this country lately.   He however edged all Batswana to join hands to work together to develop their areas these projects are meant to better the services offered to them in their respective districts.
